The Buddha’s Dhamma is the Universal Dhamma.
The Dhamma of the Buddha is the highest Dhamma given to the universe by ancient India. The teachings of this Dhamma are universal. This Dhamma is a way of living a life of conduct, purity and bliss. It is the study of knowing the truth about the mind and matter. Dhamma is a way to know the ultimate truth. In fact, the Buddha is a Great Scientist who studies the laws of nature that govern the universe through actual experience. The true teachings of the Buddha are described in detail in his given Eightfold Path. This is the way of grief prevention. This is called the Middle Path (Majjim Nikaya). It is the fourth of the four Arya Truths, which Lord Buddha first recited to the five-class Bhikkhus at Sarnath during his first Dhamma Chakra initiation.

The Arya Ashtangik path is divided into three parts.
1) Modesty (teaching of virtue)
2) Entrancement (gaining mental control)
3) Wisdom (Purifying the mind by increasing insight)
Emphasizing on the above three things, the Buddha made it clear that the true Dhamma is contained in the three things of Modesty, Entrancement, Wisdom, and not just the Dhamma that I have taught, but the teachings of any Buddha in the past, present or future.
In every religion, morality is taught. But that teaching is limited to the level of intellect or devotion. It is very difficult to live a virtuous holy life on the level of reality unless everyone learns the process of controlling and purifying the mind on a mental level.
