In the Satmal Mountain Range near Kannada, the first “Pitalkhora Caves” of the caves in the sanctuary of Gautala many features have been elaborated many times.

The Pitalkhora Caves Are Characterized By Many Organs. The Caves Date Back To The 5th or 6th Century AD. The Mahayana Sect Created Murals. The Murals That Has Been Painted Only Includes Samyak Sambuddha and Bodhisatva. Perhaps These Murals Looks Like Possibly Even before the murals that are in the Ajanta Caves. Because in this mural, instead of depicting Jataka Stories on the pillars on the walls of the main Chaityagriha, only Samyak Sambuddhas and Bodhisatvas are depicted, But, So In the Ajanta Caves, you can see many Jataka stories. The World’s Attention Is drawn By Murals to the roots of walls in Ajanta Caves.

The Speciality of Pitalkhora Caves is Murals of Samyak Sambuddha wearing white colored robe. In Cave number three which is a Chaityagriha, there were 37 Octagonal Pillars, but now only 12 pillars remain in their original form. It has beautiful Samyak Sambuddhas depicted on it. We can see Tathagata wearing Saffron Colored Robe here. If you can, you can see these characteristic murals on the left side wall of the Chakraman or Circumambulation Path designed to pay homage to the stupa. The paintings on the octagonal pillars seem to be of a somewhat primitive form, while the murals on the circumnavigation path seem to be of a more serious nature.

The Murals show the incredibility of human art and it also demonstrates the artist’s ability to excel in portraying and to reach his heights in art. The textures and thickness of the color used and displayed in the picture provides ultra high altitude to it. There is a big difference between the murals on the columns and the murals on the side walls. The murals on the side walls look more prolific as much as the primitive paintings on the columns. The Bodhisatvas paintings here are also very well painted. The curly hair of the Bodhisatva and a little bit of hairs that comes on the face of Buddha grabs our attention.
